Diamond Head/Gold Coast Real Estate
A national landmark with stunning, quintessentially Hawaiian views
Diamond Head is the large, extinct volcano cone on the southern shores of Oahu. Now extinct, the Diamond Head area is home to many hiking trails and historic buildings. (I’ve read that it isn’t actually extinct, but dormant!) The Gold Coast, which includes the iconic Waikiki, is located in the area surrounding Diamond Head. The volcano’s history is rich in both native and European histories. Its English name derives from the mistaken belief that the volcanic crystals around the beach were diamonds.
